Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- Drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle selected. Additional fees may apply for those under 25. A valid, full driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit must also be provided, along with any other criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Options
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or at our Manchester office. A booking deposit may be necessary to confirm your rental. The full payment and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by both parties. Ensure that the vehicle is returned in the same condition as it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level as at collection, with refueling fees applicable for lower levels. Late returns could incur extra charges; please inform us promptly if you anticipate any delays. You will be accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges that arise during your rental, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Details
- Basic third-party insurance comes standard with all car rentals. Detailed information about coverage and excess amounts is outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial risk. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you opt for further coverage. Damage resulting from negligence, improper use, or violation of these Terms will remain your responsibility, regardless of existing insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For specific information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any other dangerous driving. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to unauthorized individuals is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is forbidden. Additionally, ensure that you do not exceed passenger or weight limits and only operate the vehicle within the agreed geographical boundaries.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Manchester will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
